| 新四军江北指挥部从成立到撤销虽然只有短短的20个月，但在中华民族抗日战争史上留下了浓墨重彩的一笔。面对侵华日军对皖中地区的不断进攻和疯狂推进，皖中地区成了抗日前线，也给新四军在本地的发展提供了条件。面对新的抗战形势，中共中央做出了新四军向北发展的重要战略决策。1939年之前新四军在江北地区共有武装力量2万余人，但是在江北活动的新四军既远离新四军军部，又有长江阻隔，给新四军的统一指挥带来了诸多不便。新四军江北指挥部在这样特殊的历史背景下应运而生，顺应了时局的需要，更符合当时全民族抗日的大潮流。 |

| Although it took only 20 months to revoke the headquarters of the Jiangbei Army of the New Fourth Army, it left a strong impression in the history of the Chinese nation's war of resistance against Japanese aggression. Faced with the constant attack and frenzied promotion of the invading foreign troops toward the Central Anhui Province, the Central Anhui Province has become the frontline of resistance against Japan and provided conditions for the New Fourth Army in local development. In the face of the new form of war, the CPC Central Committee gave the important strategic decision of the New Fourth Army to develop northward. Before 1939, the New Fourth Army had a total force of more than 20, 000 in Jiangbei area. However, the New Fourth Army operating in Jiangbei was far away from the military headquarters and blocked by the Yangtze River, bringing many inconveniences to the unified command of the New Fourth Army. Against this background, the headquarters of the Jiangbei Army of the New Fourth Army responded to the current situation and the general trend of resistance of the masses of society came into being. |
