| Wu Jiaji,a descendant of Dongtai County,was a quite famous and outstanding poet of early Qing Dynasty.He lived in the salt field of the sea shore,devoted to his ideal until his death.In his works,many poems reflected the miserable life of salt-boiling people,a special class of the society.He inherited the poem-composing style of New Poem Institutionism,and created the "Sal-field New Poem Institutionism" in a serious,grave,depressed and gloomy way.Over the past years,the study done to Wu Jiaji is still inadequate,and in addition involves some misunderstandings;thus we need to probe into the issue further and deeply. |
