| Abandoned Child Story is modern Japanese author Takahashi Kazumi′s first novel. As an early work, its chaotic linguistic style reflects the author′s still-forming ideological state. Through analyzing the work′s three spatial structures—material, social, and spiritual—this paper reveals the author′s early vulnerability in his desire yet inability to challenge social order, while also examining the subtle anti-order ideology expressed throughout the work. |
