| Interpreting Lu Min′s "Dongba" novel series from the ecological perspective reveals that these works transcend simple utopianism. The novels demonstrate a strong ecological consciousness, expressing appreciation for natural rhythms, harmonious social relationships, and psychological well-being while critiquing their antitheses. Lu Min portrays "Dongba" as thriving within agricultural civilization but vulnerable to transformation under modern industrial-commercial influences. While the narrative appears to reinforce binary oppositions between tradition and modernity, rural and urban, the "Dongba" series ultimately presents its own distinct ecological values. |
