During the Republic of China, the content of rituals and customs in Dongtai County underwent many changes, and these changes were recorded by Yuan Chengye, the local elite of Dongtai County, in the "Dongtai County Record" compiled in the 10th year of the Republic of China. From the "Dongtai County Record" compiled by Zhou You in the 22nd year of Jiaqing to the "Dongtai County Record" written by Yuan Chengye in the tenth year of the Republic of China, the two county records were separated by a hundred years, and the country entered the Republic of China from the Qing Dynasty. The content of the etiquettes changed in form, but the sense of order contained in the etiquettes has not changed. Although the country has undergone drastic changes, as a local elite participating in local affairs, still hoped to use the sense of order to maintain the relative stability. This phenomenon of the fusion of old and new is also a microcosm of the social transformation in the early years of the Republic of China. |
