| As an important part of Chinese culture, the English translation of Tang poetry is not only related to the dissemination of Chinese literature to the West, but also related to the transmission of Chinese aesthetic culture, emotion and other information, which is consistent with the research direction and practical significance of Communication studies. Based on the analysis of the practical significance of English translation of Tang poetry from the perspective of Communication studies, this paper affirms the positive significance of this initiative in enriching the types of international communication, cross-cultural communication and public communication in Communication studies. Based on this, the article selects the case of Xu Yuanchong′s English translation of Tang poetry, analyzes the different strategies adopted in terms of language, thinking, aesthetics, meaning, etc. , and explores the role of Xu Yuanchong's English translation of Tang poetry in promoting the spread of Chinese culture, with a view to providing experience and breakthrough for subsequent English translation of Tang poetry. |
