| The diary text of Rabe′s Diary proves the historical authenticity of the Nanjing Massacre. Compared with the film, the diary text of Rabe′s Diary has the common ground that it represents the Nanjing Massacre from an objective and neutral third party perspective, which plays a witness role. The difference between the two lies in the difference of artistic expression and content presentation. Film should play its unique role different from historical documents, literary works and other writing methods, with its unique audio-visual combination of art to write history, reflect on the reality. |
