| Yuan Chengye, a gentry of Dongtai County in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, participated in the compilation of Dongtai County Annals during the Republic of China period. The annals were not completed, but the relevant parts of Dongtai County Annals compiled by Yuan Chengye were preserved in the form of private editions and manuscripts, and the annals were not fully utilized in the newly revised Dongtai City Annals in 1994. This manuscript not only has many supplements to the original contents of Jiaqing′s Dongtai County Annals, but also focuses on the social, economic, political and cultural changes of Dongtai in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, which is of great historical value. |
