| A White Heron is a masterpiece by American writer Sarah Orne Jewett. It tells the story of Sylvia, a "country girl" who grows up in a town and escapes the compulsion of a young and handsome ornithologist, bravely saves a white heron. Based on the intersection perspectives of eco-feminist criticism, the story is interpreted to reveal the ecological consciousness and feminine consciousness contained in the work, and to reflect the plight of women under sex and class oppression, as well as to look at human society. |
