| The origin of the name of Yancheng, the existence of the "ring city are saltworks, hence the name of Yancheng" argument, was said from the old county records, but the history of the county records on its views are different and there are objections. Based on the historical records, documents and the achievements of archaeology, geography and climate, this paper analyzes the similarities and differences of these theories, and concludes that the historical background of the saying "the ring is all Yancheng, hence the name Yancheng" is not the eastern Jin Dynasty, but the Tang Dynasty, to sort out this historical controversy. |
