目前已有的研究认为语言文化因素是造成中国学生批判性思维能力普遍偏低的原因之一,但由于缺乏影响程度这一重要指标,批判性思维能力差异评估的客观性和改进措施的针对性都不同程度受到影响。采用沃森-格拉泽批判性思维评价,用中英文两种版本的问卷对100名英国某大学的中国学生与英国学生进行了调查以比较他们的批判性思维能力。结果显示,中国学生在英文问卷测试中的批判性思维能力评分比英国学生低15%,而采用汉语问卷测试只低9%。这表明语言因素引起的批判性思维能力的差异占40%,因此,研究对客观评估和培养及提高中国学生的批判性思维能力有重要参考价值。 |

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether language differences contribute to students′ critical thinking abilities, focusing on Chinese and native British students in a UK university. Using the modified Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal questionnaire, the study compared critical thinking skills and abilities for final year cohorts in a UK university. Results showed that Chinese students had a 15% lower CT skills than their British counterparts, and difference in language skills seem to contribute 40% to the observed difference. The study suggests some approaches for developing and improving students′ CT ability. |
