      转喻不仅是一种修辞格,也是一种重要的认知模式,更是一种认知的思维方式,是人们了解世界和丰富语言的一个手段。 转喻理论为英语阅读教学提供了新的视角并已得到了越来越多的关注和重视。通过实证研究,转喻体现在语言的各个方面,是一种与语言教学密切相关的语言运用能力。把转喻应用于词汇教学、语篇教学、文化教学等三方面教学中,对于提高学生的阅读能力具有重要的意义。
英文摘要:
      Metonymy is not only a figure of speech but also an important cognitive pattern. What's more, it is a thinking method by which human beings can know the world and enrich their language. Metonymic theory provides a new perspective to English reading teaching and has increasingly drawn more attention and concerns. It has been proven that metonymy exists in every level of language and a competence closely related with language teaching. So it is suggested that application of metonymy to lexical teaching, textual teaching and cultural teaching is vital to improving students' reading performance.
