| 有学者认为“壴”字本义为鼓形食器，“喜”表示饮食之乐以至于一般的喜悦，对此进行了补充论证。并结合《汉书》及颜师古注，认定“喜”“憙”均有上声和去声两读，分别表示“喜悦”义与“喜好”义；而且“憙”的本义应该是“喜悦”，《说文解字》“憙，说也”的解释并没有问题；进而判断《读书杂志》中“喜”条与“憙”条均有错误。 |

| Some scholars argue that the original meaning of zhu(壴)is one of eating utensils; that the character xi(喜)constructed zhu(壴)and(熹)means the happiness of drinking-and-eating or general ones. We have two evidence to add furtherly. Related the examples of Book of Han(汉书)and Annotations to Han Shu( 汉书注)by Yan Shigu, we find that "xi(喜)" and "xi(熹)" both have two kind of pronunciation——shangsheng and qusheng; respectively demonstrate joyous and likeness. The original meaning of "xi(熹)" is joyous and the explanation of Shuowen Jiezi is correct by which we argue that notes on xi(喜)and xi(熹)in Miscellaneous Notes on the Classics(读书杂志)are wrong. |
