| What’s O.Henry’s real attitude towards the main characters in After Twenty Years It is still a controversial issue in academia.In order to solve this problem,a thorough analysis based on close reading is made in this paper from the perspective of implied author.As a result,it is pointed out that the implied author narrates the story with a gentle writing style superficially but actually castigates the darkness of society.The real author is not equal to the implied author,which is caused by O.Henry’s own experience and the reality of society. |
