| Motivations in language include external and internal ones. The latter can be further divided into morphological, onomatopoeic and semantic motivations. This essay mainly studies the internal motivations, points out the significances of the study of motivations on vocabulary acquisition in foreign language studies, and it emphasizes that it is important to make use of motivations in the course of study, so as to grasp lexical meanings in a better way,and improve ability of foreign language studies. |
