| Before the Southern Anhui Incident, Yancheng step by step became the political and military center of the New Fourth Army in Central China. After the incident, Yancheng naturally became the base for the New Fourth Army to rebuild its military headquarters. By sorting out the relevant historical data, this paper holds that this historic move reflects the foresight of the Chinese Communist leaders, the wisdom of strategic policies making in advance, and the power of execution and action of the quick-witted and unflinching officers and soldiers in the New fourth Army and the Eighth Route Army. |
