| Disputes always exist on the ideological value and significance of Charlotte Gilman’s The Yellow Wallpaper since it has been revalued by feminist critics as the early feminist text.In the perspective of narrative psychology,this paper explores the cause of opposed sexual stereotypes in The Yellow Wallpaper lies in the different social gender expectations and illustrates the pratical value of self-narrative as a narrative strategy applied in the interpretation of the ideological meaning of the insanity of the heroine. |
