| The Romance of West Chamber and Peony Pavilion are hailed as "Twin gems" of Chinese classical dramas for they made breakthroughs in the past connotation of love and marriage,and respectively created two characters of rebellious spirit and unique personality with the imprint of time,i.e.Cui Yingying and Du Liniang.This paper starts from the texts and their social backgrounds and presents an interpretation to the similar connotation and diverse feminine awareness indicated by their acts. |
