| 语言是文化的载体;习语是语言中的精华.习语是在语言的长期使用过程中形成的固定的词组、短语或句子,其在固定搭配、语法结构或语言含义上都是特殊的,一般不能随意改变.本文分析了英语习语的结构特点和语义特点,并着重探讨了英语习语所蕴涵的文化内涵,以期有助于对英语习语本质的把握,有助于英语教学. |

| Language is the vehicle of culture; idioms are the prime of language, since they have formed through long period of time of utilization. Idioms are fixed words, phrases or sentences which are unique in collocation, grammatical structure or meaning and usually cannot be arbitrarily altered. This article analyzes the structural and semantic features of English idioms, and dwells upon the cultural connotations of English idioms in the hope that it will be helpful to the understanding of the nature of English idioms and to English learning and teaching. |
